An old school friend recently said to me, whats going on with that web site of yours? Yes, he was referring to this Richmond High School web site .
I have no idea why its been hacked, whacked and smacked so many times since we launched it back in 2008.
Given I host and maintain a number of WordPress web sites, all with different skins on different servers, I found it quite complexing that a web site close to my heart would constantly experience these issues.
Then on April Fool’s Day (1st April) 2013 it happened again. The dreaded 500 server error message on every page. I wrote to server support but all I got back was a generic reply that left me as much in the dark as when I started. Its time I thought to myself… lets move the site to another server, a new skin and hopefully a new lease of life.
We moved another WordPress web site which was also going through issues last year, and touch wood, its been trouble-free since we moved it, so here goes. I started on Tuesday 2nd April and by 1pm we had moved the entire web site to a new server, updated the nameservers, changed theme (to what you are seeing now) and by 2pm, we were up and live on the new server.
I suppose its fingers crossed from here, but I am optimistically hopeful that it will be smooth sailing from here.
Ha Ha Ha!
I re-read what I had written above, made a couple of edits and hit save.. then I saw this..
Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /home/richmond/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1067
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/richmond/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php:1067) in /home/richmond/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 876
Does it ever end.. ?
What is really strange, it that the editor has written the post to the database and the post can be seen on the web site.
Off to theme support to see what I’m doing wrong.
